The Nationwide Associate Network is a not for profit 501(c)7 organization.
We are a membership driven organization, governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors. The association is guided by our Code of Regulations and Policy Guide.
The policies, procedures and Member Rewards described in this Policy Guide apply to all Nationwide Associate Network (NAN) members.
NAN reserves the right to change or discontinue, in whole or in part, any of the policies without notice.
This policy guide has been developed as a tool to assist NAN volunteers and members with questions they may have concerning NAN activities. This guide was not meant to cover every situation that may arise. If you have questions regarding these policies or situations that are not addressed, please send an email to NAAMail@nationwide.com.
Within this guide “NAN”, “Activities” or “the Association” refers to the Nationwide Associate Network. “Board” or “NAN Board” refers to the NAN Board of Directors.
GENERAL
Membership
- Yearly Membership is required
- Valid January 1-December 31 and is nontransferable.
- Membership is open to all active Nationwide associates
- Retirees are eligible in accordance with Code of Regulations
Alcohol
- The use of alcohol will not be subsidized, promoted nor advertised
Nondiscrimination
- The practice of our association will foster a spirit of inclusiveness

Fundraising/Solicitation
- Fundraising and solicitation are not permitted
Participation in External Organizations
NAN policies and procedures supersede all other guidelines for external organizations i.e. Toastmasters, sports facilities, etc.
Conduct
At the discretion of the NAN Board the following actions can result in termination of membership:
- Any adverse action by a member that harms the reputation, purpose, or financial standing of the as.
- Violation or abuse of NAN Policy Guide or Code of Regulations
- Abuse of set ticket or network event limits
Termination of Membership
Member privileges including participation in networks are discontinued immediately at termination of employment or by action of the NAN Board
Internal and External Support
Members may not seek, represent or accept any form of support or compensation from outside organizations/company. i.e. fees, trophies, apparel, etc. Community
Representation and Media Relations
- Representing NAN or any NAN networks within the community is not permitted nor is the use of the Nationwide name or brand
- Representing Nationwide or NAN, with external media is not permitted without specific prior approval from Nationwide Associate Network (Executive Director)
Internal and External Social Media
- Must be approved by NAN prior to launch
- Any changes to web address or branding must be approved by NAN
Promotional Communications
- Any communication designed to represent or promote NAN or any of its networks must be submitted to NAAMail@nationwide.com for approval.
NETWORKS
Member Reward –
Required network fees may be subsidized with Member Rewards
- Tournaments and outings require prior approval from NAN Staff
- Special equipment or related fees such as golf carts, field lighting, celebrations activities, etc. will not be considered for Member Rewards.
- A dollar amount per member and the annual funding cap/maximum will be approved annually by NAN Board
Member reward limits:
- Consumable items, such as food, beverages, personal or take-home items are not eligible for Member Rewards.
- A specified registration fee for conferences, seminars or classes will be considered for member rewards
League Play
- NAN will manage all funds and payment(s) transaction to external venues.
Internal and External Social Media
- Must be approved my NAN Staff prior to launch
- Any changes to web address or branding must be approved by NAN staff
Electronic Communications
- NAN networks are limited to communications that are administrative in nature and within the context of a given NAN network
Network Financial Management
- All funds will be administered through NAN
- NAN will manage all funds and payment(s) transaction to external venues
Worker’s Compensation Waivers
- A signed annual Waiver is mandatory for all network participants prior to participation
Facility Use
- Use of the common areas must be approved and scheduled the NAN advisor.
- All meeting areas must be returned to original condition, including original placement of tables, chairs and other equipment
- Any events outside of regular business hours held in a Nationwide facility must be reported to the Advisor prior to scheduling event
Assets - Equipment, Supplies and Reference Materials
- Assets that will be shared by networks may be purchased by NAN. All assets are the property of the association. (i.e. soccer balls, sewing machines, books, etc.)
- Assets are to be used for NAN networks and events only. Personal use of NAN assets is prohibited
- Network leaders are required to maintain asset and inventory documentation
Leader Expectations
- As a leader of NAN network, you are expected to attend scheduled NAN initiated meetings including but not limited to the NAN Annual Meeting
- Leads NAN network in a responsible manner in accordance with the NAN Policy Guide
- Act as liaison between network and Nationwide Activities Staff
- Ensures network participants are compliant with the NAN Policy Guide
Speakers Internal / External
- All external speakers must be approved by NAN prior to scheduling
- Speakers’ name, address and SSN/TIN are required to process payment
- Nationwide associates are not eligible for any compensation
Network Viability Requirements
- A network must consist of at least two leadership roles (lead and co-lead) and five club members to be considered a network
Dissolution of Network
- Inform all network members and NAN of the intention to dissolve.
- If network viability is not met, the network will be dissolved. And all network assets must be returned to NAN within 15 days of dissolution.
